I discovered yoga in 2007 at Bryan Kest's Power Yoga when I was 17 years old and at a pivotal point in my life. It was the first time I had ever experienced being fully present and from that moment forward, I understood that it is actually possible to tame the mind and use yoga as a powerful tool for healing. To me, yoga is about taking the time to take care of ourselves and listen to our bodies so that we may release the stresses of daily urban life. Through cultivating conscious breath and movement on our mats we can learn to master our minds, becoming less reactive and more responsive in the face of challenge.
